In this inspired romantic styled shoot, our bride planned an intimate family wedding infused with all the things she loved. Fresh florals transformed her family's backyard into her very own secret garden. She didn't compromise on style for her big day and opted for a gorgeous Claire Pettibone gown paired with a whimsical cathedral veil, sparkling jewelry and accessories. The family cocker spaniel was front and center for all the festivities and added a light and fun air to the celebration. They ended the night under the stars surrounded by café lights and candles, creating memories that will last them a lifetime.
The florals used in this shoot were dreamy. Roses are always right and of course, I have a soft spot for peonies. Especially pink ones. I love the play of colors, the whites with the light and darker pinks paired with touches of blue accents. It all dances so well together. The classic beauty of the inn makes it a favorite for couples to host their big day. Nestled in the middle of Penn State campus, the stately inn is steeped in history and emanates old world charm. The Georgian style structure with its grand stone portico, is flanked by a row of dormers on both sides. Inside the lobby is a grand fireplace with the most comfortable seating inviting you to come sit and stay a while. Just beyond the lobby is the most elegant chandelier with what seems like hundreds of shimmering crystals, hanging down from the second floor. It seems the inn was made specially for wedding days.
The ceremony took place on an outdoor deck tucked away on the second floor of the Penn Stater hotel just a short distance away from the Inn. The space was backed by nature with the mountains watching off in the distance. A simple hexagon arch adorned with soft, breezy fabric and fresh flowers completed the scene. It's hard to beat the inn's beauty and charm which was on full display. We captured photos of the bride both inside and outside the Inn and every place we shot was stunning. We started with more formal portraits on the grand portico by the front entrance and by the large fireplace in the lobby. A hot chocolate bar awaited the bride to warm her up between shots. And, of course, we had to get pictures of the dazzling chandelier. We finished up on the outdoor patio which was decked with café lights ready for dancing the night away.
