It seems like just yesterday that I announced Pink Peony Bride would be opening. Hard to believe it's been over a year. It’s been a long year in many respects but thankfully we’ve come out on the other side, different… but whole. I am thrilled to find a home for Pink Peony Bride in Historic Bellefonte, PA. Quaint inns wrapped in ivy, magnificent Victorian structures, and lush gardens like those found at the H.O. Smith Botanic Gardens provide the inspiration for my collections, so this is an incredible place for me. I adore timeless classics updated for modern life and that is what I hope to bring to brides through Pink Peony Bride - beautiful, timeless pieces to help create memories that will last a lifetime. Click here for more details on my current collection. In light of the past year and the effect it has had on weddings and the wedding industry, as I open, Pink Peony Bride looks a little different than I originally anticipated. I am opening with an online store only in addition to hosting open houses in my Downtown Bellefonte space which will serve primarily as the Pink Peony Bride business office. I am excited to host local brides and happy to offer free local pickup appointments for their online orders. An additional note about open houses - open houses give brides an opportunity to view pieces from my collection in person. They don't require an appointment (Update 5/1/21 - appointments are now required). However, there are limited time slots available for brides who would like to try pieces. My first Open House will be on March 13, 2021 - 10AM to 3PM. Click here for more details on attending an open house and to RSVP. Follow Pink Peony Bride (@pinkpeonybride) on Instagram for updates, new blog posts etc. I am excited to officially open the doors and to continue curating pieces that help Central PA brides feel and look their best on one of the most important days of their lives.
xoxo, Terry For this micro wedding inspired styled shoot, a team of talented vendors took an already charming backyard and transformed it into a gorgeous setting for the most romantic wedding ceremony and reception. They used what was already there - a stately tree transformed with an artful array of flowers and pampas grass into the perfect ceremony backdrop; and crafted scenes out of open spaces - a lounge area with a pretty pink sofa, an open air dining space under a vine-wrapped canopy, a cove flanked with twinkle lights perfect to slip away for a moment together... Flowers, winding vines, and pretty glass lanterns abound, creating an epicly romantic scene. As the sun set, it added an even more romantic ambience to the space. Three take aways for backyard ceremonies: - they tend to be more relaxed so you can more easily include family pets in your day - time is more flexible so you can capture those sunset photos - ceremonies can still be gorgeous, romantic and chic Vendor List:

We adore the kind of love that has you floating through the clouds; daydreaming and excited for the future. The kind of love that is sober and grows stronger with age; that is patient, is kind, and that perseveres. We celebrate women during a time when their love story is at its peak moment and are honored if they decide to make us part of it. But, for us, it goes even deeper. It permeates everything thing we do, how we interact with our brides and other customers, our vendor partners and our community. Our guiding philosophy is “Let all that you do be done in love.” We take that very seriously and are committed to living this out. Part of our commitment: - to consider the best interests of others and not just our own; - to be understanding, thoughtful, kind, considerate; - to be fair in our interactions with others; - to be mindful of our impact on our neighbors and community. We may not always be perfect in this, but we are committed and will always strive to do our best.
Perfect details combined with gorgeous florals in a beautiful and iconic location. This Winter Bride styled shoot was all about the bride! Her hair and makeup were stunning. Her gown was a beaded show-stopper with brilliant back detailing and a soft, flowy train. She was adorned in sparkling wedding jewelry with an artful custom made bridal set. With soft colors, the decor and design paired perfectly with the venue space. The ceremony took place on an outdoor deck backed by nature with the mountains in the distance. The reception took place at the beautiful Nittany Lion Inn which created wedding photo magic. A hot chocolate bar was perfect to warm up after the ceremony or twirling on the outdoor patio under cafe lights. Some fun was had on a gold bar cart before capturing some final moments by the fireplace and on the balcony lit by the sparkling chandelier of your dreams. About the Shoot I am just in awe of all the talent and heart there is in the local Central PA wedding industry. This shoot is what Penn State wedding dreams are made of. I wanted to highlight the beauty and unique details of a winter wedding at this iconic venue and I was blessed to pull together an incredible team of vendors to bring this vision to life. It was inspired by the gorgeous views from the Penn Stater Hotel and the classic beauty of the Nittany Lion Inn. Thank You to this Incredible Team! I attended the Central PA Bridal Expo for the first time this year. It was at the beautiful Penn Stater Hotel in State College. It was wonderful connecting with brides and vendors alike. Some brides had been following me online and wanted to connect and I saw several people I knew who were getting married. It was an exciting event. As you would expect, there were all different types of vendors to help brides plan their dream weddings. The event was sponsored by Formalities, a bridal and formal wear shop in Bellefonte, and the gowns they showed were just beautiful. One of the cool things about the show is that models dressed as brides would walk through the entire space so brides could view the dresses as they checked out other vendors. What a great idea?!
There were representatives from some gorgeous venues, a harpist, caterers (I got hungry just looking at the pictures of their food!), bakers, photographers, videographers, donuts (Duck Donuts was there), DJs, event rental companies, florists and many more. RE Farm Cafe (a local wedding venue that also caters) was next to me and I tried their vegetarian sushi. It was seriously delicious and the ladies were so lovely. Thank you to everyone who stopped by. It was great connecting with you all and happy wedding planning! I attended my debut vendor event in December 2019 and couldn't think of a better place than the Bellefonte Under the Lights Winter Market. There were bright white tents, cafe lights, a dreamy atmosphere... things Pink Peony Bride is all about. The event was set up along the Bellefonte waterfront with the market in the parking lot of the gorgeous Gamble Mill. Cafe lights were strung all along the entire area and into the market. So dreamy! Vendors had come from Downtown Bellefonte and all over Centre County. There were warming stations to keep you nice and cozy while you shopped and food trucks with all sorts of delicious food. The turn out was fantastic despite the cold and rain. I got to meet countless people as they checked out the different vendors and everyone was extremely supportive with well wishes all around. Looking forward to next year's event.
On October 28th, 2019, I announced that pretty things are coming to the High Street in Bellefonte. Though Pink Peony Bride will not officially open for a few months, 2019 laid the foundation for the salon. Pop Up ShopsOn March 2019, I had my first Pop Up Shop at the beautiful Lydia Shafer Photography Studio at 136 West High Street in Downtown Bellefonte. The studio is in one of the gorgeous buildings that Bellefonte is famous for. Lydia had just finished renovating it with crisp white walls and billowy white curtains that were perfect to showcase my sparkling bridal jewelry and headpieces. Photos by Lydia Shafer Photography. Vendor Collab info below. On April 27th, 2019 I had another Pop Up shop at the Art Alliance Downtown Gallery in Downtown State College on Fraser Street. It was during the Downtown State College Pop Up Ave event. Pop Up Ave was set up in the plaza just outside the Fraser Street Shops with great music all day, plus food vendors and craft vendors from all over the area. There was an art show going on in the gallery at the time so I got to talk to some of the artists and meet the owner of Duck Donuts (yum!) who stopped by to say hello. It was a fantastic day. Photos by Danielle Leigh Photography. Styled ShootsMy first bridal styled shoot was in April 2019. It was at 1181 Creekside Manor. A picturesque wedding venue in Mechanicsburg, PA. The shoot was styled and coordinated by Jenna Violet Photography and set up by the creek from which the venue gets its name. It was gorgeous to say the least. Photos by Jenna Violet Photography. Vendor Collab info below. At the end of August 2019, I had my second bridal styled shoot. This shoot was styled and coordinated by me and took place at the beautiful Harmony Forge Inn in Bellefonte. The property boasts a magnificent main house for hosting the bridal party, a large barn and extensive grounds which are beautifully kept. It was gorgeous and the shoot was just as much. The High Street is one of my favorite streets and I am so excited to establish my business there. I always get excited when new shops open in the downtown. I remember a clothing shop right across from the Governor's Pub, Helen Foxx & Co, Dam Donuts (we loved Dam Donuts), and the Cakery among others. My husband and I call Bellefonte home. Before we were married I lived in an apartment on Allegheny Street close to the beautiful Curtin Street. It was in a gorgeous old house with a clawfoot tub and those huge doors that just reach all the way up to the ceiling. Oh how I loved that little place. Some of our favorite places in Bellefonte include the Governor's Pub, the Gamble Mill (we used to love going there on Friday nights for dinner and live music), Big Spring Spirits, Helen Foxx & Co, Cool Beans Coffee & Tea (oh the scones!), Bonfatto's, Talleyrand Park (or as my kids call it - the Duck Park), the Wok and we still need to try State Burger. We love all the fairs that happen and are so excited about the addition of Bellefonte Under the Lights. For several years I dreamed of opening my own shop on High Street but it seemed like such a far off thing that may be one of those that just remains a dream. It's surreal that now it's so close to being a reality. This is a dream come true for me and I am so excited to help our brides make their dreams come true.
